Shamanic healing practices are global, ancient and non-religious forms of healing that work on many levels of a person simultaneously (physical, mental, emotional, psychological, and spiritual). Some of the earliest traces of shamanism predate written history and organized religion, stretching back tens of thousands of years to the era of hunter-gatherers.
Modern shamanic healers serve as intermediaries between the spirit world and the physical world. They use a variety of tools to facilitate the movement and transmutation of energy, including rattles, shakers, drums, singing bowls, plants, animal bones, totems, feathers, wood, water, candles, resins, herbs, stones and crystals. Additionally, shamanic healers utilize ceremony and ritual to help ground, cleanse, protect, and offer gratitude before, during, and after a session.

Because shamanic work addresses the physical, emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual levels of a person, the effects of the practices are widespread. No one person is the same and every session is unique. However, there are many similarities in what people report they experience during and after a shamanic healing session.
During a shamanic healing session, many people notice changes in body sensations, including fluctuations in temperature, muscles contracting and relaxing, tingling sensations, and the experience of floating or grounding. Some people also notice a change in their heart rate, as well as varied emotions, visions, or memories.
After a shamanic healing session, many people report a sense of lightness, as if a heavy emotional weight was lifted, and a feeling of being grounded. Additionally, sudden waves of crying or laughter, vivid dreams, or old memories may resurface as a person integrates the session. Many people experience a need to sleep or rest, which is a normal reaction as the nervous system resets. Some people do not notice any changes after the session, with subtle, yet powerful, shifts becoming noticeable days or weeks later.

You don’t need to be in the same room—or even the same country—to receive shamanic healing. Just as a phone call or a Wi-Fi signal connects us across miles without a physical wire, shamanic healing works through a shared energetic field that completely bypasses time and space.
During a remote healing session, the shamanic practitioner enters an altered state of consciousness (a shamanic journey) to connect with the client’s energy field, clear blockages, and restore balance.
Remote shamanic healing is very effective. Just like remote psychotherapy, many clients prefer remote shamanic healing sessions because they can relax completely in the comfort, safety, and privacy of their own home without having to drive or travel immediately after deep energetic work.
If you are interested in remote shamanic healing, please select “Remote Session” when booking. After booking, you will receive an email with information about what to expect and how to prepare for the session.

One of the key principles that guides Salka Sanctuary is ayni. Ayni is an ancient Andean practice that roughly translates to “sacred reciprocity.” It is based on the premise that everything in life is interconnected. When we receive help, resources, or care, it is essential to give something back in return. This balanced exchange helps us stay in right relationship with others while honoring the sacred harmony of life.
I understand that financial barriers are very real for so many people. You should never have to decide between access to healing and paying the bills. If you’re drawn to any of the services at Salka Sanctuary but are facing barriers, please reach out to me directly. Tell me what would help you access care. Together, we’ll work to create options that reflect the spirit of ayni.
